Supporting you on your journey to becoming pregnant

You’re in expert hands with us – both medically and personally

The Kinderwunsch Institut Dr. Schenk is one of the best IVF centres in the world. With a clinical pregnancy rate of just under 48% and a pregnancy rate after frozen embryo transfer of about 54%, we are one the world’s leading establishments in this regard. Moreover, the Kinderwunsch Institut is an absolute pioneer in the field of medical research thanks to FRED, its own research and training centre.
The highest quality, constant further development and our commitment to being there for our patients with all our hearts have made us who we are. Over 3,000 pregnancies speak for themselves!
The list of therapies we offer is long. We have the latest technologies and have had great success thanks to our own patented IVF methods. But don’t just take our word for it, look at our range of treatments!

1. First interview

The start of our journey to the child you long for consists of a detailed first interview with Dr. Michael Schenk via Skype. During the consultation, the medical, psychological and social history of both partners will be discussed, and you can ask all the questions that are on your mind.

Over the course of a personal consultation, we will work out your wishes and ideas, and clarify the therapeutic possibilities. With your consent, we will plan the course of treatment in a further discussion. This will clearly set out the necessary further steps, from diagnosis to therapy, and establish a precise timeline of what will happen.

2. Diagnosis

After we have drawn up the treatment plan, we will carry out extensive examinations of both partners and use the findings to discuss possible options for treatment with them.
For women, diagnostic procedures include the determination of thyroid levels, coagulation and the sexual hormone balance as well as an examination of fallopian tube clearance and monitoring of the menstrual cycle for evidence of follicle growth or ovulation. An accurate semen analysis at our in-house andrology lab provides information about the quality of sperm, the sperm count and the ability of the sperm to move.

Both partners undergo procedures including a genetic clarification, the exclusion of infectious diseases and the evaluation of a risk questionnaire.

3. Therapy

The Kinderwunsch Institut offers various ways to become pregnant: so-called optimum intercourse for conceiving (VZO), the transfer of semen into the fallopian tubes, in vitro fertilisation, meaning fertilisation of the egg in a test tube, and the ICSI method, injection of the egg cell with a sperm cell from the man. Egg donation from our in-house ova bank and the surgical extraction of sperm from the testicles (TESA/TESE) also form part of our extensive range of treatments.

These fertilisation options are supported by highly developed technical, scientific and medical therapies in order to maximise the likelihood of pregnancy.
